Sewing Threads, Collage, Drawing and Disfigured Plastic Figures on Paper
60Wx330H cm
This piece was inspired by a nursery rhyme with the same title from Sinclair’s childhood in Brazil. During her 128 Exhibition in November 2018, when she first presented the work to the public, it was accompanied by an audio track of the song recorded with her own voice.
This long and narrow work gives the perspective of ‘falling down’. A mixture of roses and bound human figures are pulled down into countless drains. Sinclair tries to show the conflict between an innocent childhood and the veracity of adult life.
